Karl Rose’s journey in music began at 12 when he first picked up a guitar in the mid-70s. Playing in bands quickly followed, which naturally led him to the recording studio—a place that would become his true creative home.

Over the years, Karl’s passion for recording grew, evolving from early six-track Portastudios in the ’80s to the advanced software tools of today. He started with Cakewalk’s Guitar Tracks Pro, which eventually introduced him to Sonar 2, a DAW he’s continued to master and love through its many iterations.

While Karl keeps busy with live music projects, his heart belongs to the studio. Whether composing and recording his own music or working with local bands and artists, he’s always at home behind the mixing desk. His dedication to the craft also extends to the Cakewalk forums, where he’s known as FastBikerBoy, offering advice and sharing knowledge with fellow users.

Karl’s knack for teaching and creating self-produced tutorials caught the attention of Streamworks Audio, leading to his role as the author of the SWA Complete Sonar X2 video series—an opportunity he happily embraced.
